Emergency Medicine & Trauma: Every Second Counts

When life hits unexpectedly — a road accident, a cardiac arrest, a severe allergic reaction, or an internal injury — the first few minutes decide the outcome.
That’s where Emergency Medicine & Trauma Care steps in — responding fast, stabilizing patients, and giving them the best possible chance of survival.

At our Department of Emergency Medicine & Trauma, we operate 24/7, equipped with advanced technology, trained emergency physicians, and rapid-response teams that deliver expert care during critical situations.
Because in emergencies, timing isn’t everything — it’s the only thing.

What Is Emergency Medicine & Trauma Care?

Emergency Medicine is the branch of medicine that deals with sudden, unforeseen illnesses or injuries requiring immediate attention.
Trauma Care focuses on patients suffering from severe physical injuries — from accidents, burns, or falls — where fast diagnosis and rapid intervention make the difference between life and loss.

Our department functions as the frontline of healthcare, offering continuous, round-the-clock medical and surgical support for patients in distress.

Key Emergencies We Handle

Our team manages a broad spectrum of medical and surgical emergencies, including:

  • Cardiac & Stroke Emergencies: Heart attack, cardiac arrest, and brain stroke care using the “Golden Hour” protocol.
  • Trauma & Accidents: Road traffic injuries, fractures, head trauma, and internal bleeding management.
  • Respiratory Distress: Asthma, COPD exacerbation, allergic reactions, and poisoning cases.
  • Neurological Emergencies: Seizures, fainting, acute headaches, or spinal injuries.
  • Gastrointestinal & Abdominal Pain: Appendicitis, pancreatitis, bowel obstruction, and internal bleeding.
  • Toxicology & Poisoning: Snake bites, chemical exposures, drug overdose management.
  • Obstetric & Pediatric Emergencies: Complicated deliveries, neonatal distress, and pediatric trauma.
  • Severe Infections: Sepsis, dengue shock, and high-grade fever with organ involvement.

Every case is handled with precision, coordination, and compassion, ensuring rapid stabilization and smooth transfer to specialized units when needed.

Advanced Facilities and Technology

Our Emergency & Trauma Centre is designed to deliver instant, high-quality care supported by modern infrastructure:

  • 24/7 Ambulance Services: GPS-enabled, ICU-equipped ambulances for on-site stabilization and safe transport.
  • Triage System: Rapid assessment to prioritize life-threatening cases.
  • Dedicated Resuscitation Units: Fully equipped with defibrillators, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
  • Trauma Bay & Operating Rooms: Immediate surgical support for critical injuries.
  • Point-of-Care Diagnostics: On-the-spot ECG, ultrasound, blood gas analysis, and radiology support.
  • Critical Care Integration: Seamless handover to ICU and specialty departments.

Our command system ensures zero delay from arrival to treatment, following international emergency protocols for speed and safety.

The Emergency Team: Skill Meets Speed

Our Emergency Medicine & Trauma department is led by a team of:

  • Emergency Physicians: Trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
  • Trauma Surgeons & Orthopedic Specialists: For immediate surgical management.
  • Critical Care Nurses: Skilled in airway management, IV access, and resuscitation.
  • Paramedics & First Responders: Trained for pre-hospital emergency care.

Each member is trained to stay calm, act fast, and communicate clearly under extreme pressure — because teamwork saves lives.

Golden Hour Principle

The first 60 minutes after an emergency are critical for survival.
Whether it’s a road accident or cardiac arrest, treatment within this “Golden Hour” drastically improves outcomes.
Our systems are built around this principle — from ambulance response to in-hospital triage — ensuring that no second is wasted.

Beyond Treatment: Rehabilitation and Recovery

Our commitment doesn’t end with saving lives.
We also focus on post-trauma recovery, involving physiotherapy, psychological counseling, and long-term rehabilitation for accident survivors and critical patients.
The goal: restoring not just health, but also confidence and quality of life.

Why Choose Our Emergency Medicine & Trauma Department

  • 24/7 Emergency Coverage: Immediate care, any time of day or night.
  • Advanced Life-Support Equipment: ICU-grade monitors, ventilators, and defibrillators.
  • Rapid Response Ambulance Network: Covering nearby regions for critical pickup.
  • Proven Track Record: High survival rates and patient satisfaction in critical cases.
  • Empathetic Care: Medical excellence backed by human compassion.

From accident sites to hospital recovery rooms — we deliver seamless, lifesaving care every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Emergency Medicine & Trauma and our services

Stay calm, call the hospital’s emergency number or local ambulance helpline immediately. If the patient isn’t breathing, start CPR if trained. Avoid giving food or water to unconscious individuals. Quick hospital transfer within the “Golden Hour” can dramatically improve survival chances.

The trauma team follows a triage and stabilization protocol — securing the airway, stopping bleeding, checking vital signs, and performing emergency imaging or surgery if required. Once stable, the patient is shifted to ICU or a specialty ward for continued care.

Emergency Departments operate 24/7 and handle life-threatening or time-sensitive cases. Unlike OPDs, which manage routine or scheduled visits, emergency medicine focuses on rapid diagnosis, stabilization, and immediate intervention to save lives and prevent complications.

Very affordable treatment. Dr Mr. Vijay took CT scans for 3 people in our family when we got COVID, he was very patient and helped us with a safe and smooth experience the results were accurate. We knew he had to handle lot of patients due to wide spread of covid 19 but he was very patient, calm and focused only on providing right diagnosis without showing any anger or irritation to patients.
