About: Dr. Anil Pande
Prof. Dr. Anil Pande is a senior neurosurgeon at Voluntary Health Services (VHS) Hospital, where he has worked since 1994. He specializes in brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerve surgery. He feels fortunate to have seen Dr. K.S. Sanjivi and to have been mentored by Prof. B. Ramamurthi. He trained at PGINS and the Dr. Achanta Lakshmipathi Neurosurgical Centre at VHS. He deeply respects the high ethical standards and technical excellence set by his teachers. Dr. Pande has vast experience in all areas of neurosurgery. He has a special interest in vascular, tumor, and complex spine surgeries. He constantly works to improve his skills and knowledge.
He is the editor of two neurosurgery textbooks, including Meningiomas and the fourth edition of Ramamurthi and Tandon (2025). He has written 57 chapters in 7 textbooks and has 59 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He received the Best Reviewer award from the Indian Journal of Spine Surgery. He was also named Adjunct Professor by Apollo Hospital Education and Research Foundation. Dr. Pande teaches neurosurgery to DNB students. Two of his students have won gold medals in their exams. He is the Historian of the Neurological Society of India and Treasurer of the Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgical Society India. He has given over 100 talks at national and international conferences. He loves books and manages the libraries at VHS. He is also the National Board of Examinations India Coordinator for VHS Hospital and Research Center.
