Dr Ganapathy Worked for 27 years as Associate Professor of Surgery at Oman Medical College, Sohar,
Oman, and at The Ministry of Health, Oman, as Senior Specialist Surgeon, where taught and trained young medical students in the art and science of Surgery. Earlier held same post at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute(SRIHER), Porur, Chennai, for a period of 8 years. Worked as a “Rural Surgeon” in Kano State of Nigeria for a period of 8 years mastering the techniques of performing complex surgeries with minimal support. During all these periods have presented and published many scientific papers in varied national and international journals and forums.
Observing the explosion of diabetic foot problems, started specialist “ Diabetic Foot Clinic” at VHS, on 23 March 2023, as a comprehensive “Low cost- High tech module Management”, targeting the disadvantaged and the under privileged, in consonance with the principles of Voluntary Health Services Hospital. Launched the “Paadam Kaappom” clinic in conjunction with The Rotary Club of South Madras on 25 th March 2026, to offer “Advanced treatment and Preventive foot care” to diabetic foot patients, with latest equipment and management protocols. The objective is to target the economically and financially weaker patients, who are unable to bear the ever spiralling cost of medical care. The Rotary Club of South Madras, has generously contributed in furthering our efforts of delivering quality foot care to the masses at minimal cost
